[Ren tries to assail Snoke, simply he blasts Force lightning into the footing which ricochets into Ren, blasting him back; the Praetorian guards draw their weapons in response] Skywalker lives! The seed of the Jedi Order lives. As long as he does... hope lives in the milky way. I thought yous would be the ane to snuff it out. Alas, you're no Vader. You're but a child... in a mask.

Luke Skywalker: Who are you?

Rey: I know this place.

Luke: Built a thousand generations ago to keep these. The original Jedi texts. Just like me, they're the last of the Jedi religion. You've seen this place. Y'all've seen this island.

Rey: [whispering] Only in my dreams.

Luke: Who are you?

Rey: The Resistance sent me.

Luke: They sent y'all? What's special about yous? Where are y'all from?

Rey: Nowhere.

Luke: No one'south from nowhere.

Rey: Jakku.

Luke: All right, that is pretty much nowhere. Why are you here, Rey from nowhere?

Rey: The Resistance sent me. We need your assistance. The First Order has go unstoppable–

Luke: Why are you here?

Rey: Something inside me has always been there... simply now it'south awake, and I'm afraid. I don't know what it is, or what to do with it, and I need help.

Luke: You need a teacher. I can't teach you.

Rey: Why non? I've seen your daily routine. You are non busy.

Luke: I will never train another generation of Jedi. I came to this island to die. It's time for the Jedi... to end.

Rey: Why? Leia sent me here with hope. If she was wrong, she deserves to know why. We all do.

Rey: Master Skywalker, we need you lot to bring the Jedi dorsum because Kylo Ren is strong with the night side of the Force. Without the Jedi, we won't stand a gamble confronting him.

Luke: What do you know most the Force?

Rey: I've never felt any... [Luke smacks her with the leaf] Ow! Y'all meant, reach out, similar-- I'll try once again. [closes her optics]

Luke: Breathe. Only breathe. Reach out with your feelings. What do you run across?

Rey: The island. Life. Death and disuse, that feeds new life. Warmth. Common cold. Peace. Violence.

Luke: And between it all?

Rey: Residuum. An energy. A Force.

Luke: And inside you lot?

Rey: Inside me, that same Forcefulness.

Luke: And this is the lesson. That Forcefulness does not belong to the Jedi. To say that if the Jedi die, the light dies, is vanity. Can yous feel that?

Rey: In that location'south something else... beneath the isle. A place. A dark place.

Luke: Balance. Powerful light, powerful darkness.

Rey: [Stone beneath her starts to crack] Information technology's common cold. It's calling me.

Luke: Resist it, Rey. [no response] Rey? [no response] REY! [no response] [Rey snaps out of the vision] Yous went straight to the night.

Rey: That place was trying to prove me something.

Luke: Information technology offered something y'all needed. And you didn't fifty-fifty try to stop yourself.

Rey: Merely I didn't run across you. Nothing from you lot. You've closed yourself off from the Strength. Of class you have.

Luke: I've seen this raw force only once before, in Ben Solo. It didn't scare me enough and then. It does at present.

Ren: Why is the Strength connecting united states? You and I?

Rey: Murderous snake! You're as well tardily! You've lost! I've institute Skywalker!

Ren: Did he tell you what happened? The night I destroyed his temple, did he tell you why?

I took him, and a dozen students, and began a training temple. By the time I realized I was no match for the darkness ascent in him, it was too late.

Rey: What happened?

Luke: I went to confront him, and he turned on me. He must've thought I was dead. When I came to, the temple was burning. He had vanished with a handful of my students, and slaughtered the remainder. Leia blamed Snoke, but... information technology was me. I failed. Because I was Luke Skywalker. Jedi Master. A legend.

Rey: The galaxy may demand a legend. I need someone to prove me my place in all this. And yous didn't fail Kylo. Kylo failed you. I won't.

Rey: Why did you hate your begetter? [Ren turns around shirtless] Do you lot have something? A cowl, or something you could put on? Why did you detest your father? Requite me an honest answer. You had a father who loved you lot! He gave a damn virtually you!

Ren: I didn't hate him.

Rey: Then why?

Ren: "Why" what? [pauses] "Why" what? Say it.

Rey: [sobbing] Why did you... why did you kill him? I don't understand.

Ren: [seeing something inside Rey] No? Your parents threw you away similar garbage.

Rey: They didn't!

Ren: They did, merely you can't stop needing them. It's your greatest weakness. Looking for them everywhere, in Han Solo, and now in Skywalker. Did he tell you what happened that night?

Rey: Aye.

Ren: No. He'd sensed my power, as he senses yours, and he feared it.

Rey: [stunned at what she but heard] Liar.

Ren: Permit the by die. Kill it if you lot have to. That's the only way to get what you lot were meant to exist.

Rey: [having returned to her hut afterwards her ordeal in the Mirror Cavern] I idea I'd notice answers here. I was wrong. I've never felt so alone.

Ren: You're not alone.

Rey: Neither are you.

[Rey and Ren attain out to each other through the Forcefulness. Luke notices them touching hands]

Luke: STOP!!!

[Rey and Ren look at Luke angrily. Luke uses the Force to button the hut autonomously. Rey searches for Ren, who has vanished]

Rey: [turns to Luke] Is information technology true? Did y'all try to murder him?!

Luke: Leave this island, now!

[Luke storms off into the rain, just Rey follows after him]

Rey: Cease... End! [knocks Luke downwardly in the dorsum of the head with her quarterstaff] Did you do it?! Did you create Kylo Ren?! [the two proceed to fight each other along the cliffside until she gets the upper paw, forcing Luke into submission with Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber] Tell me the truth.

Luke: I saw darkness. I sensed it edifice in him. I'd seen it in moments during his preparation. But and so I looked inside, and it was beyond what I e'er imagined. Snoke had already turned his heart. He would bring devastation and pain and decease, and the end of everything I dear because of what he will get, and for the briefest moment of pure instinct, I thought I could stop it. It passed like a fleeting shadow, and I was left with shame and with consequence. And the concluding thing I saw were the eyes of a frightened male child whose Master had failed him.

Rey: You failed him by thinking his choice was fabricated. Information technology wasn't! There's nevertheless disharmonize in him. If he would turn from the dark side, that could shift the tide. This could be how we win.

Luke: This is not going to go the way you think.

[uses the Forcefulness to move Rey toward the viewport to show her the Resistance transport ships being destroyed one by one] The entire Resistance on those transports. Soon, they will all exist gone. For y'all, all is lost. [Rey uses the Force to take Ren's lightsaber] Oh, still that fiery spit of hope? You lot have the spirit of a truthful Jedi! [Rey charges at Snoke with Ren's lightsaber. Snoke picks her up with the Force and she lands in front of Ren. His lightsaber spins around and stops in forepart of him] And because of that... you must die. [uses the Strength and turns Rey toward Ren] My worthy amateur, son of darkness, heir credible to Lord Vader. Where there was conflict, I now sense resolve. Where there was weakness, forcefulness. Complete your preparation, and fulfill your destiny.

Ren: [picks up his lightsaber] I know what I have to practice.

Rey: Ben...

Snoke: [laughs] You remember you can plough him? Pathetic child, I cannot be betrayed. I cannot be browbeaten. I see his mind: I see his every intent. Yes. I see him turning the lightsaber to strike true! [without Snoke knowing, Ren uses the Force to face up Anakin'southward lightsaber toward him] And at present, foolish child, he ignites information technology... and KILLS HIS TRUE ENEMY!!!

[Ren uses the Force to ignite Anakin'south lightsaber and Snoke is cut in one-half at the waist. The lightsaber flies back into Rey's hand. Ren ignites his ain lightsaber and he and Rey fight Snoke'due south Praetorian guards]

Ren: It's time to permit sometime things die. Snoke, Skywalker, the Sith, the Jedi, the Rebels; Let it all die. Rey... I want you to bring together me. Nosotros can rule together and bring a new order to the galaxy!

Ren: They were filthy junk traders, who sold y'all off for drinking money. They're dead in a pauper's grave in the Jakku desert. Y'all have no place in this story; you come from nothing. Y'all're nada... just non to me. Join me. [he extends his manus towards Rey] Delight.

[Full general Hux finds Ren lying unconscious on Snoke's throne room floor amidst the wreckage following the battle with Rey and the Praetorian guards. He reaches for his blaster pistol, but instantly recoils in one case he sees Ren come to]

Hux: What... happened?

Ren: [surveys the room] The girl murdered Snoke. [looks out a window to notice half of the Supremacy floating away] What happened?

Hux: She took Snoke's escape craft.

Ren: We know where she's going. Go all our forces downwards to that Resistance base, and let's finish this.

Hux: "Stop this"? Who do you think you're talking to? You assume to command my army? Our Supreme Leader is expressionless! We have no ruler!

Ren: [angrily Force chokes Hux and brings him to his knees] The Supreme Leader is dead!

Hux: [choking] Long live the Supreme Leader.

Connix: Our distress signal'southward been received at multiple points, but no response.

Commander Larma D'Acy: They've heard u.s., but no one'south coming.

Leia: We fought till the end. Simply the milky way has lost all its promise. The spark... is out. [Leia lowers her head in defeat just then she and the others present notice a hooded effigy budgeted her in the command middle, who turns out to be Luke Skywalker] Luke...

[Luke sits downward in front end of her and prepares to speak just for Leia to stop him]

Leia: I know what you're gonna say. I inverse my hair.

Luke: It'southward prissy that way. Leia, I'm sorry.

Leia: I know. I know you are. I'm just glad you're here at the end.

Luke: [referring to Kylo Ren] I came to face him, Leia, and I can't save him.

Leia: I held out hope for and so long, but I know my son is gone.

Luke: No one'southward ever actually gone. [Luke hands Leia Han's gold dice, then stands and kisses her on the forehead and goes to go out to face Kylo Ren, passes 3PO who nods to him]

C-3PO: Main Luke... [Luke winks at him]

Luke: No.

[The two draw their lightsabers. Ren charges at Luke, who blocks and dodges each blow as he returns to a prepare stance]

Luke: I failed you lot, Ben. I'1000 sad.

Ren: I'chiliad certain you are! The Resistance is dead! The war is over, and when I kill you, I will have killed the last Jedi!

Luke: Astonishing. Every word of what you merely said was wrong. The Rebellion is reborn today. The war is just starting time. And I will non be the last Jedi.

Ren: I'll destroy her...and y'all...and all of it.

Luke: [extinguishes his lightsaber] No. Strike me down in anger, and I will always be with you lot. Only like your male parent.

[Ren furiously charges at Luke 1 final fourth dimension, but Luke is withal standing. Dislocated, he puts his lightsaber through Luke earlier staring in horror every bit he realizes he's been fighting a Strength projection all this fourth dimension - and Luke is still physically on Ahch-To]

Ren: No...

Luke: See you around, child. [his Force project fades abroad]
